The home will be built to compliment the character of the neighborhood. Within the Silver Triangle there are a number of recently built, multi-level, contemporary style homes. This project will bridge the modern construction in the area with the traditional homes that originally characterized the neighborhood. The transitional style selected for this house focuses on comfort and practicality to meet the lifestyle of an active household. It's a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, midway between all world traditional and modern lines. The style is less ornate than traditional designs but not as severely basic as contemporary lines. The scale of the home is ample but not overwhelming. This is accomplished by creating visual breaks with the use of cladding products that have warm tones and a neutral color palette. A balance of several textures ie: wood, stone, stucco, and iron creates greater visual appeal. To avoid flat unappealing walls, the face has been staggered to create separate volumes. The terraced roof deck has been designed to house planters that will allow vegetation to cascade down the front of the home. A courtyard on the second floor provides an area where light and the outdoors meet the interior living space.
As a result, the design is classic, timeless and clean. Four bedrooms and a functional floorplan ensure a family can comfortably use the living spaces. Parking is at the rear of the home allowing for full use of the front yard. The side of the home will open to an area that has been designed for outdoor living and recreating. The landscaping is comprised of porous materials for water absorption as well as drought tolerant vegetation.
